Over the past week I had the pleasure of checking out the entire show floor of 2013 and I mean all of it, just so I could come up with my own top 10. I know that my list may differ greatly from all the other top tech sites, but I don’t care, they’re stupid. So what if they liked the biggest TV they could find at CES, it’s going to be outdated in a month anyway. I wanted to focus more on the stuff that normal consumers who like technology in their everyday lives would buy. So here it is!
10. TransluSense – Luminae
It’s a glass surface keyboard with IR lights and cameras that use either touch or swipe motions to function wirelessly through bluetooth. Plus the physical layout can be customized with skins of your choosing. Very high tech looking!
09. Inventist – Solowheel
A gyro-stabilized electric unicycle! Way cooler than a scooter or a lame Segway. With gyro sensors, a 1,000 watt motor and a rechargeable battery, you just lean forward to go, or back to stop, pretty simple.
08. Mizco – Ecko Unltd
Marc Ecko started out as a graffiti artist on the streets of New Jersey, but eventually turned his talents to designing urban apparel and accessories. So it only makes sense that he would have a bluetooth speaker shaped like a spray can.
07. Huckleberry Toys – Chara-Covers
Amidst the countless booths dedicated to nothing but cell phone cases, this one truly stood out. Not only did they have both Marvel and DC, they also had variant colors of your favorite superheroes and many more on the way.Plus they mentioned a partnership with Disney to release Star Wars cases soon. So be on the lookout for that.
06. Rocstor – Rocsecure
By far the most secure way to store your files on an external hard drive. You can choose between several different methods of access too, from a keychain dongle to a standard keypad, or even a smartcard with password. Now you can hide your porn with the same technology the military uses!
05. G-Mate – MAG II Gun
If you’ve been wanting to play your first-person shooters with a lightgun without all the extra accessories and setup of a PlayStation Move, then this is the closest you’re gonna get for now. But then again I guess it’s not technically a lightgun either, it works more like a gyroscopic mouse on any HD TV or otherwise, so whose complaining.
04. Cobra – iRadar S-Series
We all like the idea of a radar detector to keep from getting tickets, but hate the idea of this big device either laying on the dashboard or mounted to the windshield. Plus with all the annoying chirps and beeps it makes you’d just end up turning off anyway. Well now Cobra has introduced a radar detector that mounts under the hood and uses their app on either your iPhone or Android device to display warnings.
03. TiVo – Mini
If you have a TiVo Premiere and love it, but want another one for a different room and can’t afford the cost of the hardware plus the monthly service fee, then you need this. It allows you to watch live TV or recorded shows from your host TiVo on another TV in a different room through local ethernet.
02. Pioneer – iPhone 5 AppRadio
I one day hope to be able to just plug my cell phone into my car and use it as the brains of my car stereo to do everything, like navigation, streaming internet radio and countless other apps. Well that day has come! Pioneer seems to be leading the pack with this idea in mind and it’s not just for iPhone either, they’re beginning to support Android too. So if you want this functionality in your vehicle too, then go check out there full line of stereos to see what suits you.
01. VEFXi – 3D-Bee Diamond
If you love 3D as much as I do then you will want this. It’s a 2D to 3D converter that plugs into your 3D TV, meaning it can take anything over HDMI input that’s a 720p or 1080p format and make it 3D using the same type of 3D glasses that you get from the movie theater. Normal DVDs, Non-3D blu-rays, HD cable broadcast, Xbox 360, PS3, etc and makes them 3D. Wow, just wow!
