The 2nd Annual Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con is here!

Happy Friday my fellow geeks, nerds, and dorks! Today is truly an AMAZING day because the 2nd Annual is finally here! Earlier this month, our resident superhero and editor-in-chief, Burke Lant, gave you the head’s up on this year’s Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con, but today I’ve got even more news for you.

Jae Lee Joins the 2014 Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con Lineup!

Marvel's The Gunslinger BornJust three days ago it was announced that the Eisner Award-winning comic book artist, Jae Lee, is joining the already All Star lineup of celebrities at this year’s in the South Point Hotel & Casino! Jae Lee is a Korean-American comic book artist, known for his dark and elegant style, who won an Eisner Award for his work on Marvel’s The Inhumans. The art from his collaboration with writer Grant Morrison on Fantastic Four: 1234, was featured in an exhibition at The Society of Illustrators in New York City. In 2007, Jae Lee was handpicked by Stephen King for a six year journey that began with Marvel’s The Gunslinger Born and culminated with illustrating the Grant edition of Stephen King’s The Wind Through the Keyhole novel.

Batman, Superman, Jae LeeWhile a Las Vegas local, Jae Lee attends very few comic book conventions, which makes his appearance at the 2nd Annual Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con a truly special event. Lee has recently completed Before Watchmen: Ozymandias, the prequel to the bestselling graphic novel of all time, Watchmen, and he is currently the ongoing artist for one of DC’s bestselling titles, Batman/Superman. Jae Lee will be featured in the Artist Alley, available for signatures as well as original art commissions each day of the convention.

In addition to Jae Lee, this event will feature the latest and greatest from the world of comic books, headlined by the one and only Jim Lee, co-publisher of DC Entertainment and record-holder for single-issue sales at an amazing 8 million copies sold in just one month!

Other Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con guests include Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, Wolverine creator Len Wein, Infinity Gauntlet creator George Perez, and many more. You can view the full list of the 2014 Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con Special Guests here.

This year’s Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con has plenty of exclusives, panels, and other fun activities like Kid’s Day and a costume contest. The convention doors open up later today at 3 pm with the first of many scheduled events starting at 6 pm tonight until the final event starts Sunday at 4 pm. You can view all of the 2014 Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con programming info here

Weekend passes are $60, Saturday passes are $35, and Friday or Sunday only passes are $25. Tickets are available at the South Point box office or here. Ticket information, VIP upgrades, and regular event updates are available here. VIP tickets range from $150 to $200.

You can get an idea of what to expect from these photos I took at last year’s ALVCC:

I look forward to seeing many of you at the South Point Hotel & Casino this weekend for the 2nd Annual Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con. Until next time, plow on.
