Although it was teased last week, the official Yaiba reveal took place at Tokyo Game Show in the wee western hours of the morning. Keiji Inafune, of Comcept, took the stage during the Team Ninja conference and let loose the news about this newest title in the Ninja Gaiden universe. Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, the title they’re going with right now, has you playing as an undead ninja named Yaiba who will be hunting down Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden). Team Ninja put their interests in making this an ongoing series, but it’s unsure if this one will even arrive on this generation of consoles. The games bloody looking nature is a Ninja Gaiden staple, and I really like the sharp cell shaded animations, making this one Ninja Gaiden title I’ll be keeping my eyes on. Get ready to get hack and slash happy with this one.
