After Borman18 received 1,000 subscribers on YouTube, he so kindly released nearly an hours worth of Free Radical’s canned Star Wars Battlefront III footage. Also posted on ptoponline.com, this rough cut version, even with unfinished textures, staggered FPS, and long load times, still showed some obvious promise. Following the successful recipe of it’s predecessors, SW: BF3 allows you to choose between two factions, capture bases, pilot spacecrafts, and even play as beloved heroes/villains like Boba Fett, IG-88, and Darth Vader. The cancellation of this project hurt my inner soul, there were plenty of great hours spent playing 4 person split screen with friends. With all the advances of online console gaming since the last Battlefront installments, I could only imagine the mayhem of 20+ players blasters shooting across the screen all at once. The world may never know…
