I’ve been playing Mass Effect 3 since the wee hours of the morning, and it all started down at my local GameStop at the crack-o-midnight. The GameStop at St. Rose and Eastern in Henderson, NV is my go to place for most of my anticipated title’s midnight releases. Last night just so happened to be the Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken release, and I was surprised to see that the majority of people there bought both games. Festivities started around 10:30 PM with the guys from the Immortal Gamers League, an arcade fighter group located here in glamorous Las Vegas, having catered Buffalo Wild Wings and greasing up their arcade sticks for some friendly Street Fighter competition…that didn’t sound right. Well anyways, the GameStop was packed with a line stretching out the door, but Nick the manager runs a tight ship and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. People slam GameStop, but with the quick service and gamer focused community events like this one, it’s hard not to shop here. And just look at all the quality gents you’re missing a chance to have awkward conversation with.
