The most affordable comic book you’ll pick up this week, with a price tag marked “free” thanks to it’s $100,000 kickstarter campaign goal reached back in August. The 20th anniversary of Cyber Force celebration of sorts.
Marc Silvestri is back and co-writing Cyber Force with Matt Hawkins rebooting the dystopian, cybernetic, steam punk future. I’m not going to lie, I can’t retell the synopsis for you. There was so much information that my brain immediately shit it all back out. We’re talking 23 pages of pure story jumping back and forth between real time and interrogation narratives. They do briefly introduce you to the small cast of characters, but my memory obviously doesn’t serve me well enough to remember the original casts from back in the good ol’days of ’92. Lucky for you though, if you’re still interested, the next issue is completely free also! And if the preview is any indication, a big dude finding his arm in an open chest is really promising, so you have that going for you.
Cyber Force isn’t a bad comic, you just have to take notes. I just don’t enjoy keeping a note pad next to me to remember names, I just don’t, I know it sounds weird, but I don’t. Khoi Phams artwork is pretty good though.
