Little hints have been hitting the interwebs for the past few weeks of the upcoming Zombies modes for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, but today Treyarch let the proverbial cat out of the bag and revealed not only a brand new trailer, but released details on Zombies two new modes: Tranzit and Grief.
There were rumors of a full story Zombies mode in CODBlOps2 earlier this summer, but it seems Tranzit is the mode people were whispering about. Tranzit will have co-op teams making their way through an “expansive world” going from one zone to the next. Teams can either walk the entire distance, discovering Easter eggs, or hunker down in a fortified bus to the next location. Buses are cramped and tight, and zombies attempt to rip and tear their way in, so be prepared to repair on the move and knife those zombies bastards in the dome.
Grief is the more interesting mode, putting two teams of four head-to-head with zombies roaming around, catch is, teams can’t injure each other directly, they must kite zombies over to their opponents. Zombies not only damage players, they also will destroy fortifications put up by the opposing team, making for some interesting strategically based matches.
I really like what Treyarch brings to the cut and paste shooter Call of Duty has become. CODBlOps 2 not only looks better than MW3, the zombies modes could literally be a whole game in itself. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 releases November 13th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and the Wii U at launch.
