Hiya true believers! It’s your friendly neighborhood Dork Knight with some important news about this year’s Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival, a celebration of the illustrated word, that’s taking place on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM (PDT) in and around the Clark County Library located at 1401 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119.
The Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival is part of the Vegas Valley Book Festival which is an annual celebration of imagination that’s held during the first week of each November.
This year’s festival will feature Gene Ha, Dan Parsons, Tommy Kovac, Aaron Alexovich, Drew Rausch, Rob Salkowitz, Spencer Brinkerhoff III, and more! There will also be live music from Kirby Krackle and 3D6 as well as film screenings, the Artist Alley, panels, a costume contest, food trucks, local comic book shop booths, and all sorts of other “geek-tastic awesomeness!”
According to vegasvalleycomicbookfestival.org, last year’s festival had about 2,200 carbon-based lifeforms attend (including yours truly) to enjoy live music by Kirby Krackle, a screening of V for Vendetta, meet-and-greets and panels with Paul Tobin, Colleen Coover, Katie Cook, Brian and Kristy Miller, The Fillbach Brothers, and many others, as well as plenty of cool swag from local comic book shops like MaximuM Comics, Cosmic Comics, and Alternate Reality Comics (just to name a few).
Admission is free, but if you pre-register as a VIP here, you’ll receive all sorts of VIP benefits, including:
- VIP badge featuring exclusive artwork
- A limited-edition button
- Preferred seating at panels, screenings, and concerts (spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis)
- Swag bag featuring free goodies from some of your favorite publishers!
Pre-registration ends on November 1, 2012 and is limited to the first 300 registrants so don’t wait! (Fortunately I pre-registered back in June…yes it took me that long to finally get around to whipping this up.) According to the folks at the Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival, this year’s event will be the biggest and longest one yet so don’t miss out!
