We had a little hands on at PAX, but getting to play Hell Yeah! at home made all the difference I think. The HD graphics hold up even on a 55 inch display, and colors/characters remain crisp and clear. And being a big fan of SEGA from childhood makes it all the better.
The basic premise of the game is you are taking on the roll of the new prince of hell (apparently hell is ruled by dead rabbits) who has been photographed and publicly humiliated for his love of rubber ducks. You are then charged with destroying the beasts and bosses of Hell with various weapons and a saw blade that you ride in order to reclaim your photos and dignity.
The game plays like a standard HD side scroller, with a generous amount of mature comedy thrown in, probably best not to have this one out for the kiddos. You are given what amounts to be a saw blade that you will be riding in for the better portion of the game, which can be affixed with various other weapons, and even alternate skins. You then set about to collect treasure and upgrades to dispatch your enemies, and enemies are destroyed via a series of mini-games that all end with awesome fatalities.
Hell Yeah! is fun to play and stays fresh with new fatalities and upgrades, out this week on XBLA, PSN and PC via Origin. It retails for 1200 MS points, or $15 on PSN and PC. So give it a shot and maybe we will see you in Hell!
